The SPLC’s Mark Potok will be featured on “The Noose: An American Nightmare,” a CNN special scheduled to air tonight at 8 p.m. Eastern. The program will trace the symbol of hate from historical lynching atrocities to recent appearances in Jena, La. and elsewhere. (This program is subject to rescheduling.)
Richard Cohen Testifies Before House Committee: SPLC President Richard Cohen told the House Judiciary Committee programs that teach tolerance and defuse racial tension in schools are the key to preventing racially explosive events like those in Jena. He also presented Teaching Tolerance’s “Six Lessons From Jena.”
