‘White’ Hate crimes against Latinos are on the rise, a trend that mirrors the violent rhetoric of the immigration debate. The Southern Poverty Law Center has compiled a list of violent incidents against Latinos over the past two-and-a-half years, including the murder of a Cuban-born man at an improvised roadblock, the brutal assault of a 16-year-old Texan at a high school party and a cross burning in a Salvadoran man’s yard.
