The Democratic nominee for president will be an African American or a woman. The prospect of history being made has brought millions of new voters to the Democratic party. Democrats are delighted with both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton.
Sen. John McCain, the presumptive Republican nominee is a 71-year-old white guy who has all the charisma of a wrinkled and spoiled prune.
Republicans are desperate to add some spice to the GOP ticket; some conservative commentators are pushing for McCain to select Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice as his running mate.
Condi has an extensive experience in foreign affairs, and she’s well qualified to be commander-in-chief. But nobody knows where she stands on issues important to conservatives, like abortion and immigration.
Republicans want her to run as vice-president simply because she is a black female. This is tokenism and cynicism at its very worst; Republicans should be ashamed of themselves.
Condi may be black and she may be female, but nothing in her history suggests that she would advance the cause of women or minorities.
I’m glad that Condi recently announced that she has no intentions of running for any elective office:

Now, we all know she will do as she is told. Whichever Bush corporate empire that is going to be open for business in late 2008 will have a special cubicle for her.
Don’t forget, this person is inept but a face of America abroad.
The idea is to continue building the dream of neo colonialism.
Time will tell, though.
