As expected, the despicable Republican mouthpiece Fox news and its stable of yokels was not to be left out of bigot-fearmongering-racial exploitation mud. Echoing Limbaugh, Fox Nation headlined: Obama “Reacts to Haiti Earthquake Faster Than Christmas Bomber.”

In a drug-induced rant, Bigot Rush Limbaugh sneered — that President Barack Obama’s response to the Haitian earthquake will gain him some “credibility with the black community in, the both light-skinned and dark-skinned black community in this country,” — as if the only motivation for human compassion is publicity.

The United States Occupied Haiti for 19 years from 1915 to 1934 — inflicting brutal racist practices on Haitians for nearly all of the nineteen-year American presence in the country. American policy was more the result of fears that European countries, specifically France and Germany, had their eyes on the Caribbean. The sordid and racist American intervention that submitted a people to autocratic military rule yet did little for economic development — is partly to blame for the misery in Haiti today.
