“In an effort to help the victims in Haiti, celebrities like George Clooney have signed on for a telethon to aid the devastated island nation.
The oscar-winning actor will host ‘Hope for Haiti’ which will air on all the major networks including music channels like MTV and VH1.
The telethon will start at 7 CST on Friday, January 22nd.”
Many celebrities have given generous donations to help the relief efforts in Haiti, and now George Clooney is taking it one step further by hosting a telethon to help the quake survivors.
Celebs often make the headlines for all the wrong reasons, it’s gratifying to see them pool their star power for a great cause.
Before the devastating quake Haiti was already the most impoverished nation in the Western hemisphere, the island nation’s future seems hopeless. But if we watch the telethon and give as much as we can, there is Hope for Haiti.
Speaking of celebs who make the headlines for the wrong reasons, Amy Winehouse is showing her solidarity with the grieving people of Haiti by scribbling “Haiti” on her hand. I hope that the troubled singer also scribbled her name on a generous check made out to a Haiti relief organization.
