“An Alaska judge has ordered the proceedings in Bristol Palin’s child custody case to remain open, the Anchorage Daily News reports.

Bristol’s attorney Thomas Van Flein said in court filings that Bristol seeks full legal and physical custody in the ‘best interest of the child,’ while allowing Johnston visitation rights.

Bristol Palin and her famous mother Sarah Palin are staunch evangelicals who frequently extol the virtues of family values. But Bristol, with encouragement from her mother, is seeking to keep Levi from having anything to do with her daughter.

For Sarah Palin vindictiveness and revenge trumps family values. Palin is furious because Levi has broadcast a lot of her dirty little secrets, and she will do anything to exact revenge.

Bristol’s claim that Levi is not yet mature to take on significant parental responsibilities is a joke — Levi and Bristol are too immature to raise a hamster, let alone her a child.

Having unprotected sex when you are too young to raise a child isn’t exactly proof of maturity. Regardless of how immature and irresponsible the young parents are, the innocent baby needs both a mother and a father.

Shame on the Palins for trying to prevent Levi from assuming the role of father to his beautiful baby.

Levi Johnston is milking his fifteen minutes of fame to the last drop. The teenage father of Sarah Palin’s grandchild will pose nude for Playgirl — a magazine originally targeted at females but ended up attracting loads of gay dudes.

To get ready, Johnston is training three hours a day, six nights a week at an Anchorage gym with a local body builder.

Johnston fathered a son with Bristol, the 18-year-old daughter of Sarah Palin, the former Republican vice presidential candidate who resigned as Alaska’s governor in July.

NYDailyNews: The father of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin’s first grandchild slammed the vanquished vice presidential candidate for snobby behavior, declaring the biggest misconception about him is “my family’s white trash.”

In an exclusive interview on CBS’ “The Early Show,” hunky baby daddy Levi Johnston said Wednesday that he’s heart-broken over the end of his engagement with Palin’s daughter, Bristol. He also accused the governor and her family of lying.

“We’re not cashing in on their name,” Johnston, 18, insisted. “I’m just trying to get my side of the story out there and letting people know who I am.”

Asked to identify the biggest misconception about him, Johnston replied, “Probably that my family’s white trash.”

Johnston and his sister, Mercede, portrayed the Palin family as stuck-up.

Johnston said he’s under the impression the Palins think he’s not good enough for their daughter. His sister called the Palin family’s conduct “snobby.”

“Look what they’re doing. They’re lying, trying to save theirselves. And they’re the one that asked for it,” Levi’s sister said. “They brought him to the campaign. They should have known what was coming. They can’t, you know, turn around and try to take it back now.” — [ READ MORE ]

USATODAY: In case you’ve missed the latest rounds in the Palin family saga, the gloves have come off in the scrap involving Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, daughter Bristol and lovechild daddy Levi Johnston.

Appearing on the Tyra Banks Show, Johnston said Bristol Palin “doesn’t want me around, I don’t think.” Johnston, 19, said former fiance Bristol,18, sometimes allows him to see their 4-month-old son Tripp “but won’t let me take him anywhere.”

The Palin family knew what was coming and has lashed out at Johnston for talking to Banks about his sex life and other family matters without their permission. They released a statement in advance of the show’s airing.

“We’re disappointed that Levi and his family, in a quest for fame, attention and fortune, are engaging in flat-out lies, gross exaggeration, and even distortion of their relationship,” spokeswoman Meghan Stapleton said in statement.

I make no secret that I would like to see marijuana legalized, the magical herb is safe and therapeutic. But I am vehemently opposed to drugs like crack and heroin that wreak havoc on individuals and costs society untold billions in health care and crime-related expenses.

Drug dealers are the scum of the earth, and they should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Recently the mother of Bristol Palin’s boyfriend was arrested for allegedly trafficking in oxycontin – commonly known as the “hillbilly heroin.”

Was Sherry Johnston’s arrest delayed until after the election? Perhaps a more pertinent question would be: Why isn’t John McCain being castigated for doing a horrible job of vetting Sarah Palin?

Sherry Johnston isn’t just the mother of Bristol Palin’s boyfriend, she’s also a friend of Bible-toting Sarah Palin. You are known by the friends you keep and Sarah Palin is a buddy of drug dealer.

I can imagine the screaming headlines if it were discovered that President-elect Barack Obama had a friend who was a drug dealer. We would never hear the end of it, and it would be an albatross around Obama’s neck for his whole term in office.

This story shouldn’t be buried in the back pages of newspapers, it deserves above-the-fold coverage. The press must be vigilant so that the corrupt political establishment in Alaska doesn’t merely slap Johnston on the wrist. The media must also tie this story in with John McCain’s reckless selection of Sarah Palin as his running mate.

We came uncomfortably close to having the White House resemble the Beverly Hillbillies household. I can imagine Bristol Palin and her redneck husband sneaking out the window of their bedroom to attend a rave, and President Palin and her drug-dealing pal discussing the merits of oxycontin in the Rose Garden.

To those of you who think I’m being unfair to Palin, do I need to remind you how she condemned Obama for his associations with Rev Wright and Ayers?
