As Edwards was endorsing Obama, Senator Clinton was meeting with donors — right after her big win last Tuesday in “Bigot Land,” West Virginia.
Superb timing for Obama — essentially a “Double whammy,” that completely mutes the discussion of Clinton’s West Virginia win over the air-waves.
While endorsing Obama Edwards said: “Brothers and sisters, we must come together as Democrats to defeat McCain.” “We are here tonight because the Democratic voters have made their choice, and so have I.” Obama “stands with me” in a fight to cut poverty in half within 10 years.
“The Democratic voters of America have made their choice and so have I,” he told the rally, citing Obama’s “bold leadership” and his commitment to “lasting change.”
Obama, he said, citing his own signature phrase, “knows in his heart that it is time to create one America, not two.”
Most important — is that Edwards has 18 pledged delegates, who may end up voting for Obama — negating the net 12 delegates Clinton collected in West Virginia on Tuesday.
