The controversy over Reverend Wright and his torpedoing of the campaign of his parishioner Barack Obama proves how childish and paranoid the American people have become. الخلاف حول رأيت القس ونسف له من الحملة من الابرشي باراك اوباما في الطفولة ، وكيف يثبت الشعب الامريكى المذعور اصبحت.
If this happened in Europe, Europeans being more sophisticated and somewhat more intelligent on average than Americans, there would be no controversy. واذا ما حدث ذلك في أوروبا ، ويجري الاوروبيون اكثر تطورا واكثر ذكاء من الامريكيين فى المتوسط ، لن يكون هناك اي خلاف. Europeans wouldn’t hold Obama accountable for the statements of his pastor. الأوروبيون لن تجري اوباما للمساءلة عن تصريحات القس بلده.
We’re operating under the allusion that if Wright says it, Obama believes it too. نحن تعمل وفقا للاشارة الى ان يقول انه اذا رأيت ، ويعتقد انها اوباما ايضا. Guilt by association. الجرم بالتبعيه. It’s amusing to hear McCain call Wright’s remarks extremist, a few months after he sang a Beach Boys song, “bomb bomb bomb, bomb bomb Iran (sung to the tune of Barbara Ann). انها مسليه ماكين دعوة للاستماع الى ملاحظات رأيت المتطرفة ، بعد اشهر قليلة وقال انه غنى اغنية شاطئ الاولاد ، "قنبلة قنبلة قنبلة ، قنبلة قنبلة ايران (سونغ على لحن باربرا الشبكه العربية الاخباريه).
Nobody called McCain’s sick joke extremist. لا أحد دعا ماكين نكتة المرضيه المتطرفة.
What has Wright said? وقال ما رأيت؟ Wright has the right to say it. وقد رأيت الحق في القول. He said instead of God bless America, God should damn America. وقال : بدلا من ان يبارك الله امريكا ، لعنة الله وينبغي ان الامريكية. In fairness. في الانصاف. If the truth be known. اذا كانت الحقيقة معروفة. Some of America should be damned. بعض الامريكية ينبغى ان تكون ملعونه. Such as the below. مثل ادناه.
1. America annihilated its Indian population and stole their land. 1. الهندي الامريكية للابادة السكان ، وسرقت اراضيهم.
2. Americans kept others in slavery and then after a war to end it, kept African Americans in virtual servitude for the next hundred years with racist segregation. 2. الاميركيين أبقوا الآخرين في الرق وبعد ذلك بعد حرب لوضع حد لها ، وابقاء الامريكيين من اصل افريقى فى العبوديه الافتراضيه لمئات السنين القادمة مع التفرقه العنصريه.
3. Other crimes including Agent Orange for which there is not space here. 3. غيرها من الجرائم بما فيها البرتقالي التي لا يوجد هنا الفضاء.
Wright called America an “imperialist” power. ودعا رأيت امريكا "الامبرياليه" السلطة. Well. حسنا. We are. ما نحن عليه. At times. في بعض الاحيان. We have a tendency to invade poor little countries much smaller than ours in an attempt to make them see it our way. لدينا ميل الى غزو البلدان الفقيره ضئيل اقل بكثير من بلدنا في محاولة لجعلها نرى في طريقنا. President Bush wants the right to torture prisoners, and that’s not called “extremist.” الرئيس بوش يريد الحق للتعذيب السجناء ، وهذا لا يسمى ب "المتطرفة".
Wright’s statement that AIDS is a government plot to get rid of black Americans is a little bit far fetched and I can’t go along with that one. رأيت بيان ان الايدز يشكل الحكومة مءامره للتخلص من الامريكيين السود هي غريبة بعض الشيء الآن وانا لا يمكن ان يستمر الى جانب آن واحد.
That Obama’s campaign will go down the tubes because of statements made by someone over whom he (Obama) has no control is an abject lesson that to play the political game, you have to be foolishly optimistic and upbeat and never tell Americans very much of the unpleasant truths about their country. حملة اوباما انه سوف تنخفض الانابيب بسبب التصريحات التي ادلى بها اكثر من شخص قال إنه (اوباما) لا يملك هو الدرس المدقع ان تلعب لعبة سياسية ، يجب ان تكون متفائلا وبحماقه مستبشر ولا تخبر الاميركيين الى حد كبير من الحقائق غير الساره عن بلدهم. Thus, we can always feel superior, that we’re better people. وهكذا ، يمكننا ان نشعر دائما متفوقة ، ان نحن افضل الناس.
God only blesses America. الله يبارك امريكا فقط. God must be American and Republican. يجب ان يكون الله والجمهوري الاميركي.
Clearly, there is a price to be paid when you’re too candid. ومن الواضح ان هناك ثمنا يتعين دفعه عندما كنت صريحا للغاية.
It’s also another example of how the American people want to fixate on personality rather than issues. وهي ايضا مثال آخر على كيف ان الشعب الامريكى يريد أن ثبت على الشخصيه بدلا من القضايا. It has a long history from the Willie Horton episode that sank Michael Dukakis’s presidential hopes, to Thomas Eagleton, the vice presidential candidate who had prior mental problems, was replaced, but helped to terminate George McGovern’s campaign, or the Swift Boat right wing smear campaign against John Kerry. ولديها تاريخ طويل من ويلي حلقة هورتن ان غرقت مايكل dukakis الرئاسي وتأمل ، لتوماس ايغلتون ، نائب ومرشح الرئاسة من قبل قد مشاكل عقليه ، تم استبدال ، ولكنها ساعدت على انهاء حملة جورج مكغفرن ، او القارب السريع الجناح اليميني حملة تشويه ضد جون كيري.
You simply can’t be too truthful with the American people, if the truth is unpleasant. لك ببساطة لا يمكن ان يكون امينا جدا مع الشعب الامريكى ، واذا كانت الحقيقة غير الساره. This is not new either. وهذه ليست جديدة ايضا. They forced Socrates to take poison. انها اجبرت على اتخاذ سقراط السم.
I don’t believe America has sole ownership of morality, that we’re above reproach, that we’re God’s chosen people (especially white Republicans). لا ، لا اعتقد ان امريكا قد المالك الوحيد للاخلاق ، ان نحن فوق الشبهات ، ان نحن شعب الله المختار) ولا سيما الابيض الجمهوريين). Does that make me unpatriotic? هل التي تجعلني غير وطنيين؟
Wright is voicing frustration with a system that he thinks (with good reason) has treated he and his flock unfairly. رأيت هو التعبير عن الاحباط لديها نظام ويرى أن (لسبب وجيه) وقال انه تعامل بشكل غير عادل وقطيعة. He doesn’t speak for Obama just because Obama attends his church any more than commentator Bill O’Reilly speaks for McCain because McCain appears on his TV show. وقال انه لا يتحدث لمجرد ان اوباما اوباما يحضر كنيسته ، اي اكثر من معلق اورايلي يتحدث عن مشروع قانون ماكين ماكين لأن يظهر على التلفزيون وتبين له.
The lesson here is clear. الدرس هنا واضح. If you want to win office, don’t associate with big-mouth preachers, and don’t be too honest with the American people. اذا كنت ترغب في مكتب للفوز ، لا مع معاون كبير الفم والخطباء ، وايضا لا تكون صادقة مع الشعب الامريكى.
