It is now abundantly clear that the Clintons (Hillary and Bill) are still determined to see Barack Obama fail.

Devious Clinton surrogates are busy leaking “strategy” to McCain and his supporters. For example — Hillary’s former aide Howard Wolfson fanned the divisive flames last Monday on ABC News, arguing that Hillary would have beaten Obama in Iowa and become the nominee if John Edwards’s love child scandal had come out last year — an assertion contradicted by a University of Iowa survey showing that far more Edwards supporters had Obama as their second choice.

Also, the week before last Hillary Clinton told a gathering of supporters that she’s looking for a “strategy” for her delegates to have their voices heard and “respected” at the Democratic National Convention — and did not rule out the possibility of having her name placed into nomination at the convention alongside Sen. Barack Obama’s.

In a noble gesture, and to appease the insatiable Clintons, Obama has acquiesced citing “party unity,” essentially ceding half of the upcoming Democratic convention to Bill, Hillary, cohorts and many angry “white women,“….some so angry that they have become delusional enough to contemplate voting for John McCain — a moderate man by nature, but with one foot stuck in a predatory nativist “snake-pit,” the far-right of the Republican party, to whom McCain must throw “rat-bones” before and after the November elections, if he is elected.

Time Magazine reports that while in public Clinton is doing everything she’s been asked to help Obama, behind the scenes she secretly wishes Obama should lose.

Old man McCain must be rolling in his bed over and over, salivating at the thought of Hillary ruining it all for Obama, and he has actually been cashing in — implementing the Clinton “tid-bits” (that were never used in the Democratic primary) in his ads(eg. the Paris Hilton Ad), and his incessant townhall declarations — that Obama “is not ready lead.

An anonymous “smear” publication appeared last Tuesday in the Daily Mail, a notorious British tabloid, falsely professing that Obama has been exchanging e-mails, phone calls and text messages with George Clooney the actor, who has supposedly been advising Obama on everything from body language to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. George Clooney promptly denied the allegations, but not before the malicious email had spread worldwide like a virus, and was quickly picked up by the Drudge Report and television networks ranging from Fox News to NBC. The overall result served to bolster Republican candidate John McCain’s dubious contention that his rival Obama is a vapid “celebrity.” This conforms with McCain’s most recent juvenile and subliminal sexual fear-Mongering attacks on Obama. — [READ MORE]

McCain and Clinton are Sharks!

The “Clinton Strategy” has been sold to John McCain, in the hope that he wins this fall for a one term presidency, followed by a Clinton presidency in 2012. [ Remember what Clinton said during the Democratic primaries: "I think that I have a lifetime of experience that I will bring to the White House. I know Senator McCain has a lifetime of experience to the White House. And Senator Obama has a speech he gave in 2002." ]

Central to the negative tactics which the Clintons barely used, for fear of a backlash (even though they were urged to do so repeatedly by Mark Penn, Hillary’s egotistical “chief-strategist,) was to target Obama’s “lack of American roots” — insinuations that his boyhood in Indonesia and his life in Hawaii are “exotic and un-American.

According to Penn, Obama’s basic American values and culture are at best limited, and America will not elect a president during a time of war who is not at his center “fundamentally American in his thinking and in his values” “….That Obama told the people of New Hampshire that he has a Kansas accent because his mother was from there, is nonsense and a cover-up,” — because his mother lived in many different states….added Penn.

Joshua Glenn of “The Atlantic” approached a number of current and former Clinton staffers and outside consultants and asked them to share memos, e-mails, meeting minutes, diaries — anything that would offer a contemporaneous account. Almost all gleefully acquiesced. Glenn says: “The result demonstrates that paranoid dysfunction breeds the impulse to hoard. Everything from major strategic plans to bitchy staff e-mail feuds was handed over.” (Much of it is posted online at http://www.theatlantic.com/doc/200808u/clinton-memos). Mr. Glenn also sums up the Clinton mess blow by blow here — The Front-Runner’s Fall.

The Clintons will not accept that they lost to Obama due to poor strategy, racism, toxic dis-organization worsened by a clash of personalities — feuding and bickering all the way to defeat. “Experts generally agree that Clinton’s campaign was not prepared for a lengthy fight; it had an insufficient delegate operation; it squandered vast sums of money; and the candidate herself evinced a paralyzing schizophrenia,” says Glenn.

Ma Clinton ran a deeply flawed campaign — run haphazardly by a “Junta” of discombobulated advisors and an uncontrollable Bill Clinton — who stuck his foot into his big mouth too often.

That they have not accepted the fact that the Obama machine beat them fair and square, and by the rules in place, is testimony to the arrogance and the selfish sense of entitlement of the Clintons.

And now, their last shot is to mess up Obama’s up-coming Denver convention, amidst calls to GOD from the far-right lunatics, for a heavy downpour to ruin Barack Obama’s outdoor nomination-acceptance speech at Invesco Field (Capacity 75,000), at Mile High, in Denver, scheduled to be held later this month.

By speaking on two consecutive days, Hillary on Tuesday and Bill on Wednesday, these two intend to dominate the convention, and will try their best to make it a “Clinton convention.

Maureen Dowd of The New York Times sums up the Democratic dysfunction most eloquently:Hillary’s orchestrating a play within the play in Denver. Just as Hamlet used the device to show that his stepfather murdered his father, Hillary will try to show the Democrats they chose the wrong savior.” “Hillary Clinton feels no guilt about encouraging her supporters to mess up Barack Obama’s big moment, thus undermining his odds of beating John McCain.” “You can almost hear her mind whirring: She’s amazed at how easy it was to snatch Denver away from the Obama saps.” “Like taking candy from a baby, except Bean pole Guy doesn’t eat candy.” “In just a couple of weeks, Bill and Hill were able to drag No Drama Obama into a swamp of Clinton drama.

“Now they’ve made Barry’s convention all about them — their dissatisfaction and revisionism and barely disguised desire to see him fail. Whatever insincere words of support the Clintons muster, their primal scream gets louder: He can’t win! He can’t close the deal! We told you so! Yes she can!” …[ Read More >> ]

…and E.J Dionne of the Washington Post adds: “Clinton must know that she could have won the Democratic nomination with a more coherent strategy. And her own campaigning for Obama suggests she understands that the actual nominee should not have to inherit her campaign’s circular firing squads. Much depends upon whether she can now persuade her followers to grant Obama’s nomination a legitimacy that her own campaign worked so hard to deny him.” — [ Read More >> ]

That’s how selfish and devious these two are — Bill and Hillary!

Desperate John McCain Mocks Obama’s Tire Pressure Remark

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

For the last couple of months all the major polls have consistently shown Sen. Barack Obama with a 4-7 point lead over Sen. John McCain. The general election is three months away, and polls are just a snapshot in time. But when all the snapshots show Obama in the lead, it’s not a good omen for the McCain camp.

McCain is desperate to close the gap, and he is clutching at straws to come up with an issue that will resonate with the electorate. The desperation of the McCain campaign is manifest in their commercial comparing Obama to Paris Hilton and Britney Spears.

Sen. Barack Obama is a Harvard educated lawyer, a brilliant orator, an accomplished author, and the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee. To compare Obama to the vacuous celeb twins is sinking to the gutter; McCain should be ashamed of himself.

That abominable political ad backfired — it made McCain look like a frustrated, jealous and bitter old man.

Recently Obama mentioned that if folks kept their tires properly inflated it would improve their gas mileage. That’s practical advice and it shouldn’t have caused a ripple in the political landscape, but that innocuous remark unleashed a tide of heated rhetoric from the Republicans.

McCain seized upon the “tire gauge” comment as if it were a political lifesaver. McCain has not missed an opportunity to mock Obama for his comments. You would think that Obama had advertised his tire comments as his complete energy conservation plan.

McCain - Gas Drilling
   Cagle Cartoons

The Republican’s ally in the media, Fox News, has joined the crusade to mock Obama’s tire gauge remark. Recently FOX News listed gas saving tips, and keeping your tire pressure correct was at the top of the list.

“Florida Gov. Charlie Crist also believes keeping tires inflated is important.

Third Update: Not too long ago, NASCAR told fans, ‘With escalating fuel prices, the time is now for drivers to focus on simple things like proper tire pressure to maximize tire performance and increase fuel economy.’” — Quotation from the Carpetbagger Report/Steve Benen

How low will the Republicans sink? Britney Spears and Paris Hilton and tire gauges. Will the GOP claim that Barack Obama is responsible for the Montauk Monster?

1. Carnegie Mellon University: Save Gas, Money and the Environment with Properly Inflated TiresWant to save hundreds at the gasoline pump? It’s easy. Instead of hunting for the best price in town, try checking the air pressure in your tires. Proper air pressure results in better gas mileage, which at $3 per gallon could save you as much as $432 per year, according to an informal study conducted by Carnegie Mellon students last spring. And if money isn’t a big enough incentive, how about helping to preserve the environment? Less fuel consumption results in less carbon dioxide being emitted into the atmosphere.

2. fueleconomy.gov: Keep Your Engine Properly Tuned — Fixing a car that is noticeably out of tune or has failed an emissions test can improve its gas mileage by an average of 4 percent, though results vary based on the kind of repair and how well it is done.

3. The Obama Tire-Gauge Solution: No JokeBut who’s really out of touch? The Bush administration estimates that expanded offshore drilling could increase oil production by 200,000 barrels per day by 2030. We use about 20 million barrels per day, so that would meet about 1% of our demand two decades from now. Meanwhile, efficiency experts say that keeping tires inflated can improve gas mileage by 3%, and regular maintenance can add another 4%. Many drivers already follow their advice, but if everyone else did, we could reduce demand several percentage points immediately. In other words: Obama is right.

4. McCain and his surrogates are insisting, over and over again, that tire pressure is the entire Obama energy policy. Who, exactly, is supposed to believe such transparent nonsense? READ MORE

Clinton Stooges singing Fox News’ praises?

Tags: , , , , , , ,

By Robert Greenwald

It is deeply detrimental to the longterm interests of democracy when Democrats praise and support FOX News. This would be true regardless of who that Democrat is, but it’s particularly heinous when Terry McAuliffe, the former chairman of the Democratic National Committee, is singing their praises.

Let me congratulate FOX,” McAuliffe said this past week, “because you were the first ones to call [the Pennsylvania primary] for Hillary Clinton.” McAuliffe, who is also chairing Clinton’s Presidential committee, actually echoed the FOX mantra by calling them “fair and balanced.” What is so dangerous about McAuliffe’s praise is that FOX is now using his words as a TV ad to prove just how fair and balanced they are. The rest of us know the truth:

More Here

Jonathan put together this video as a reminder of how exceedingly unfair and imbalanced FOX actually is. These are just a few gems to let McAuliffe and others know that FOX is the foe, has always been the foe, and will continue to be the foe of accurate reporting.

Please help us in this quest by sharing what you think have been FOX’s ugliest moments. Then Digg this story and spread the word. We will send the list to McAuliffe as a firm reminder that he must not applaud FOX!

Yours,
Robert Greenwald,
and the Brave New Team
