Evil GOP bastards blaming ‘Blacks’ for the Wall-Street woes

I am wondering — when will Lou Dobbs and co start laying the blame for the wall-street fiasco squarely on immigrants?

At times of economic difficulty in America, the xenophobic juices of right-wing whites flow like the Mississippi, and the bastard GOP politicians and pundits massage their baseless fears and prejudices like wicked witches.

Xenophobia and far right-wing extremism in America, as in Germany….and so on, are strikingly similar patterns of hostility towards immigrants a.k.a foreigners — unfounded fears and a wild perception of relative deprivation driven in by extortionist politicians and TV and RADIO SCUM like the Anti-Immigrant Bigot and Neo-Populist Crusader, Lou Dobbs — the resident nativist dung-thrower at CNN, and author of: “Bigots Day: Awakening the American ‘Racist’ Spirit.

The stink gets worse when BLACK UNCLE TOMS join in — for example, Ken Blackwell, the former Ohio Secretary of State.

The sight of this TADPOLE yapping maliciously against Obama at Fox New’s O’Hannity and Coward show, really riles me, because it gives credence to Syphilitic “Nazi” Scumbags like Sean Hannity, who is hell-bent on derailing Obama’s presidential aspirations by hook or crook.

Obama is head and shoulders above McCain in intellect, integrity and honesty. He is a good man, and to watch black “leaders” coalesce with the racist thugs at Fox News, to disparage other blacks, is appalling indeed.

Obama seeks entry into the most segregated institution in the United States — the presidency of the United States, therefore his candidacy should be a momentous happening to ALL BLACK PEOPLE, given that we may never see one like him in many years to come.

Blackwell is a quintessential “Uncle Tom” — a perfect example of how the right (Republicans) uses “People of Color” to foster Racism.

Mr. Blackwell was a key figure in the GOP push to disenfranchise black voters in Ohio, in 2004, and according to the current Ohio Secretary of State, Jennifer Brunner, two-thirds of Ohio counties have destroyed or lost their 2004 Ken Blackwellpresidential ballots and related election records, “Accidentally.

Of course — to hide the rampant election corruption under Blackwell’s reign of fraud.

The lost records violate Ohio law, which states federal election records must be kept for 22 months after Election Day, and a U.S. District Court order issued last September that the 2004 ballots be preserved while the court hears a civil rights lawsuit alleging voter suppression of African-American voters in Columbus.

The destruction of the election records also frustrates efforts by the media and historians to determine the accuracy of Ohio’s 2004 vote count, because in county after county the key evidence needed to understand vote count anomalies apparently no longer exists….[READ MORE HERE] [AND HERE]

Republicans can’t win anything fairly — if it is not immigrant-bashing, its terror-mongering or just out-right racism.

Now that it seems they cannot break Barack Obama’s back with their old and rudderless candidate, partnered with the dumbest “VP cheerleader” since Indiana’s Dan Quayle in 1988, their only option is to sow malicious seeds of doubt and/or to try and steal the election outright.

They have done it before. They can do it again! Punks!

From The Minnesota Post:

Poor blacks caused this,” said Keith Ellison, Minnesota’s the 5th District congressman, scornfully. “That’s what we’re supposed to believe. Little ACORN caused this. The mighty captains of Wall Street got taken down by little ACORN and poor black people. That’s what you’re hearing on the right. The gall and audacity of this is beyond imagination.”

In fact, many, including 6th District Rep. Michele Bachmann, seem to be saying that the demise of Wall Street can be traced to the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) of 1977.

That’s right. In the eyes of some, today’s problems aren’t a product of greed, or lack of regulation, but instead can be traced to the Jimmy Carter era. That’s when Congress passed CRA, an act that encouraged commercial banks to invest in housing in cities that were facing both redlining and major decline. The idea was simple: Stabilizing neighborhoods, through home ownership, would stabilize cities.

The act had the support of a nonprofit organization, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN). It survived two terms of Ronald Reagan, the Gingrich era and three terms of Bushes before apparently creating today’s crisis.

But now, a handful of economists and a lot of conservatives who are looking for a scapegoat claim that it was the CRA that encouraged risky lending that led to the defaults that have led to the mess we’re in.

Says Ellison:To suggest that the greatest financial crisis we have faced since the Great Depression was caused by legislation that was created to help prevent low-income individuals from assuming high-cost, subprime loans that have caused the crisis today is absurd. To suggest that struggling families trying to keep their home brought down the Titans of Commerce, the Masters of the Universe on Wall Street, is ludicrous. To suggest someone who is raising three children while holding down two minimum wage jobs on a high school education was able to stall one of the greatest economic engines on Earth needs their head examined.” ….[MORE]

The Mis-Education of the Negro
[Review By -- Bakari Chavanu (Elk Grove, CA USA)]

The Mis-Education of the Negro (An African American Heritage Book)
This book ought to be required reading for every teacher, educator, administrator, and parents who intereact with children of African descent.

Woodson’s work helps us understand that African peoples are truely mis-educated.

We largely receive an Eurocentric or White middle class, elitist education that by and large does not serve the needs of our communities. This mis-education creates a serious identity crisis on the part of African youth and it causes many Black “educated” middle class people to spend more time trying to reach the consumer American Dream rather than working toward a real self-determination agenda of African peoples.

Thus it’s of little suprise today that most African students never enroll in a course on African/African-American studies. In fact, these courses are becoming more rare in high school and colleges across the nation. Even with the current renaissance of Black literature in this country, the study of African/Black culture, politics, and spiritual life are rarely discussed.

In Woodson’s words: “Real education means to inspire people to live more abundantly, to learn to begin with life as they find it and make it better, but the instruction so far given Negroes [and still today] in colleges and universities [and elementary and secondary schools] has worked to the contrary.

In most cases such graduates have merely increased the number of malcontents who offer no program for changing the undesiriable conditions about which they complain.” Woodson’s book is clearly not out-dated. In fact, it reads as if it were published last year, instead of 1933.

I would like to close this response to Woodson’s work with another classic quote from him:

If you control a man’s thinking you do not have to worry about his action. When you determine what a man shall think you do not have to concern yourself about what he will do. If you make a person feel that he/she is inferior, you do not have to compel him/her to accept an inferior status, he/she will seek for it. If you make a person think he/she is a justly outcast, yoiu do not have to order that person to the back door, that person will go without being told, and if there is no back door, the very nature of that person will demand one.

Jerome S. Corsi Spearheads incendiary ‘Bigot Ad’ Campaign in Macomb County, Michigan

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

A series of ads in Michigan highlight this year’s roughest political attacks: narrowly aimed shots from small groups. They are not coming with the loud, nationally recognized cannon blast of the type launched by Swift Boat Veterans for Truth against Senator John Kerry in 2004, but, rather, as more stealthy, narrowly aimed rifle shots from smaller groups armed with incendiary material.

The advertisements running here (Macomb County, Michigan) against Mr. Obama come from a group called Freedom’s Defense Fund, a political action committee based in Washington that was formed four years ago and raises money from conservatives around the country. The advertisements have stood out because of the group’s connections — including to its paid consultant, Jerome S. Corsi, the author of the highly negative, largely discredited political biography of Mr. Obama, “Obama Nation” — and what local critics say are their racial overtones…

A Mr. Centanni said said Freedom’s Defense Fund, with relatively scant resources to spread nationally, decided it could have the most impact by focusing its presidential efforts here for tens of thousands.

Discredited RACIST-BIGOT Jerome S. Corsi

Despite stating that he had apologized for what was described as a “series of bigoted and hateful posts,” Jerome Corsi, author of The Obama Nation, wass scheduled to appear with host James Edwards on the August 17 edition of The Political Cesspool Radio Show [Republican Hate Radio], which, according to its “Statement of Principles,” “represents a philosophy that is pro-White.” In a blog post, Edwards has stated that “interracial sex is white genocide.

SPLC Exposes Anti-Obama Propagandist’s Appearance on Racist Radio Show

Jerome Corsi, the right-wing author who is promoting his best-selling book attacking Barack Obama, appeared as recently as late July on an overtly racist, anti-Semitic radio show called “The Political Cesspool.

The SPLC reported Corsi’s racist radio connection on Aug. 13, noting that he was scheduled for another interview on Aug. 17. The earlier interview was also streamed live by the white nationalist website Stormfront, which is run by former Klan leader Don Black.

Corsi cancelled the Aug. 17 interview after it was exposed by the SPLC.

Corsi’s book has been roundly denounced by news commentators, the watchdog group Media Matters and the Obama campaign as being riddled with falsehoods and distortions. He was also the co-author of Unfit for Command, the book that helped torpedo John Kerry’s presidential campaign in 2004.

Jerome Corsi is also a VICIOUS anti-immigrant RACIST/EXTORTIONIST

   Mexican Immigrants Protest Corsi
Mexican Immigrants Protest CorsiInsult-mongerer Jerome Corsi has made a career of peddling conspiracy theories in far-right publications and his own books, variously attacking 2004 presidential candidate John Kerry, undocumented immigrants, and alleged secret plans to merge Mexico, the United States and Canada into a so-called “North American Union.”

But it was Corsi’s Unfit for Command: Swift Boat Veterans Speak Out Against John Kerry, that brought him and co-author John O’Neill to national attention — in part because of many falsehoods in its claims about the legitimacy of Kerry’s medals from the Vietnam War. Corsi followed that up with Minuteman: The Battle to Secure America’s Borders, written with Minuteman vigilante leader Jim Gilchrist, and most recently, The Late Great U.S.A.: The Coming Merger with Mexico and Canada, which claims to reveal a secret plan, possibly including “an executive branch coup d’etat,” to merge the three countries. The new country, the two writers claim, will see the dollar replaced by the so-called “Amero.

Corsi also is a bigot. During the 2004 presidential campaign, Media Matters for America compiled comments Corsi made on the far-right Free Republic website. There, Corsi described Islam as “a worthless, dangerous, Satanic religion,” described Muslims as “boy bumpers” and “women haters,” and suggested that “boy buggering in both Islam and Catholicism is okay with the Pope as long as it isn’t reported by the liberal press.” And he mocked Kerry’s supposed Jewish ancestry. The comments set off an uproar, with Unfit for Command co-author O’Neill falsely claiming to MSNBC host Joe Scarborough that Corsi was merely “an editor” of the book, not the co-author, in an attempt to put distance between himself and Corsi.

Corsi’s most incredible book has to be 2005’s Black Gold Stranglehold: The Myth of Scarcity and the Politics of Oil. In it, Corsi argues that oil — which scientists unanimously agree is derived from ancient organic substances like vegetable material — is actually “abiotic,” or not related to living things. Rather, Corsi and his co-author opine, oil is produced by an underground chemical process that is limitless. Therefore, they conclude, that oil is not a finite resource.

In 2006, Corsi suffered an attack from an unexpected quarter, with right-wing nativist commentator Debbie Schlussel accusing him of plagiarizing parts of her columns and using them under his byline. Schlussel called Corsi “a thief.

But Corsi soldiers on. In January 2007, he was recruited to serve as the senior political strategist for TheVanguard.org, a major conservative effort meant to serve as a right-wing MoveOn.org. At press time, the project had yet to take off.

A History of Rope and Shame

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Writes: Leonard Pitts Jr.

This will be a history of rope.

It strikes me that such a history is desperately needed just now. It seems the travesty in Jena, La., has spawned a ghastly trend. Remember how white students at Jena High placed nooses in a tree last year to communicate antipathy toward their black classmates? Now it’s happening all over.

A noose is left for a black workman at a construction site in the Chicago area. In Queens, a woman brandishes a noose to threaten her black neighbors. A noose is left on the door of a black professor at Columbia University. And that’s just last week. Go back a little further and you have similar incidents at the University of Maryland in College Park, at a police department on Long Island, on a Coast Guard cutter and in a bus maintenance garage in Pittsburgh.

Mark Potok, the director of the Intelligence Project of the Southern Poverty Law Center, told USA Today, “For a dozen incidents to come to the public’s attention is a lot. I don’t generally see noose incidents in a typical month. We might hear about a handful in a year.”

100 Years of LynchingsThe superintendent of schools in Jena famously dismissed the original incident as a “prank.” It was an astonishing response, speaking volumes about the blithe historical ignorance of people who have found it convenient not to peer too closely at the atrocities of the past lest they be accidentally … moved.

But watching this trend unfold, it occurs to me that maybe what we need here is the opposite of ignorance. Maybe what we need is information. Maybe what we need is a history of rope.

A history of rope would have to include, in 1904, Luther Holbert and his wife, who had their fingers chopped off and handed out as souvenirs. Holbert was beaten so badly one of his eyes came out. It hung by a thread. A large corkscrew was used to bore into the couple’s flesh. It tore out big chunks of them each time it was withdrawn. A rope was used to tie them to the tree.

A history of rope would have to include, in 1917, Rufus Moncrief, who was beaten senseless by a mob. They used a saw to cut off his arms and otherwise mutilated him. The mob hanged Moncrief. Then, for good measure, they hanged his dog. Ropes were used for both.

A history of rope would have to include, in 1918, Mary Turner, burned alive in Valdosta. A man used a hog-splitting knife to slash her swollen stomach. The baby she had carried nearly to term tumbled out and managed two cries before the man crushed its head beneath his heel. A rope was used to tie Turner upside down in a tree.

A history of rope would include thousands of Turners, Moncriefs and Holberts. It would range widely across the geography of this nation and the years of the past two centuries. A history of rope would travel from Cairo, Ill., in 1909 to Fort Lauderdale, Fla., in 1935 to Urbana, Ohio, in 1897 to Wrightsville in 1903, to Leitchfield, Ky., in 1913 to Newbern, Tenn. in 1902. And beyond.

You might say the country has changed since then, and it has. The problem is, it’s changing again.

It feels as if in recent years we the people have backward traveled from even the pretense of believing our loftiest ideals. It has become fashionable to decry excessive “political correctness,” deride “diversity,” sneer at the “protected classes.” Code words sanding down hatred’s rough edge. “State’s rights” for the new millennium. And now, out come the nooses. Just a prank, the man says.

Mary Turner would argue otherwise. I find it useful to remember her, useful to be reminded of things we would rather forget. To remember her is to understand that there is no prank here.

A history of rope would drown your conscience in blood.

He was originally hired by the Miami Herald to critique music, but within a few years he received his own column in which he dealt extensively with race, politics, and culture. He lives in Bowie, Maryland.

He has won awards for his writing from the Society of Professional Journalists and the American Society of Newspaper Editors, and was first nominated for the Pulitzer Prize in 1993, eventually claiming the honor in 2004. He is also the author of the bestselling book Becoming Dad: Black Men and the Journey to Fatherhood.

Pitts gained national recognition for his widely-circulated column of September 12, 2001, “We’ll Go Forward From This Moment,” in which he described the toughness of the American spirit even in the face of such a horrible attack.

In June 2007, Pitts was the subject of a campaign of death threats and harassment by neo-Nazis angry at a column he wrote about two whites raped and murdered in Knoxville, Tennessee. In his column addressing the murders, Pitts stated “for the crackpots, incendiaries and flat-out racists who have chosen this tragedy upon which to take an obscene and ludicrous stand. I have four words for them and any other white Americans who feel themselves similarly victimized. Cry me a river.

More death threats were made in April 2008 before his appearance at the University of Puget Sound.
