The yearly Conservative Political Action Conference began yesterday in Washington D.C. — with the dominant theme being — a heavy dose of doom and gloom, and right-wing hysteria over social issues.

This year, GOProud — the homosexual Republican group is banned from attending, prompting hate groups who boycotted last year to flock back to the GOP fold.

For the next few days, pungent hate will permeate the Washington D.C. air from top to bottom.

RightWingWatch.ORG reports that — at the conference yesterday, the group ProEnglish organized the panel, “The Failure of Multiculturalism: How the pursuit of diversity is weakening the American identity.” Host Robert Vandervoort thanked CPAC for hosting the panel despite the work of “leftist thugs” who are trying to “shut down freedom of speech and freedom of assembly.” Vandervoort is a former leader of the White Nationalist group Chicagoland Friends of the American Renaissance, a racist magazine published by fellow White Nationalist Jared Taylor.

Presumably, Vandervoort was referring to the efforts of the Institute for Research & Education on Human Rights, which issued an alert on his background, and People For the American Way, which called on Republican leaders attending CPAC to denounce another panelist, Peter Brimelow, founder and head of the White Nationalist hate website VDARE. Congressman Steve King(R-IA), the deranged, diseased anti-immigrant lunatic also warned that — “America’s greatest threat is its diversity,” an obvious reference of people of color, immigrants included.

Conservative pundit and columnist Cal Thomas took a particularly nasty jab at Rachel Maddow (Openly gay host of the Rachel Maddow Show on MSNBC). During a panel at the conference, a clip of Maddow’s appearance on Sunday’s “Meet the Press” was played. In it, Maddow said that Republicans are “waging war on contraception.”

“I’m really glad…that you played the Rachel Maddow clip,” Thomas said after the audience booed a bit, “because I think that she is the best argument in favor of her parents using contraception.” As the audience cheered, he continued, “I would be all for that and all the rest of the crowd at MSNBC too for that matter.”

Recently, Ted Nugent appeared at a show in Dubuque, Iowa, and told the crowd, “There’s a lot of white people in this crowd — I like that! (Dubuque) is a white town.” Nugent also pointed out at least one audience member and questioned his race.”

The Telegraph Herald, an Iowa-based newspaper slammed Nugent’s remarks in an editorial, and noted that Nugent has a history of incendiary remarks.

According to Glenn Beck, Nugent is scheduled to appear at his 8-28 rally, which falls on the anniversary of Martin Luther King’s “I have a dream” speech. Beck has repeatedly talked about his rally in civil rights terms, and reclaiming the movement.

Judge Sotomayor’s comment that a “wise Latina” judge would probably make better decisions than a white male colleague, has been the rallying cry for Republicans during the last three days of her confirmation hearings. The toxicity which the Republican members of the judiciary committee are injecting into the judge’s “innocent” statement of 2001, while speaking to a largely Latino audience, is laughable.

Judge Sotomayor has made it clear that her remarks were a “rhetorical flourish that fell flat,” and that she was merely trying to inspire her audience of women and Hispanic students — and that diverse experiences would enrich the legal profession.

Apparently that has not convinced the senate sons of yester WHITE LYNCHERS, who have had a stranglehold on what is law and what is not, since the inception of America.

America is rapidly become diverse and they are afraid, very afraid of being washed away from absolute power. That’s the problem in a nutshell! The FEAR of a non-snow white America, or as Osama Bin O’Reilly put it: “The liberals are out to demolish the WHITE CHRISTIAN MALE POWER STRUCTURE.”

What they fail to mention is that these liberals are mostly white too — bolstered by “oppressed minorities.”

Well, the train has left the station, speeding, and doesn’t matter how loud these senate and radio bigots howl — no one will STOP IT!

In an opinion piece, Eugene Robinson writes: ‘Being white and male is seen instead as a neutral condition, the natural order of things. Any “identity” — black, brown, female, gay, whatever — has to be judged against this supposedly “objective” standard.’ “Thus it is irrelevant if Justice Samuel A. Alito Jr. talks about the impact of his background as the son of Italian immigrants on his rulings — as he did at his confirmation hearings — but unforgivable for Sotomayor to mention that her Puerto Rican family history might be relevant to her work. Thus it is possible for Sen. Jeff Sessions (R-Ala.) to say with a straight face that heritage and experience can have no bearing on a judge’s work, as he posited in his opening remarks yesterday, apparently believing that the white male justices he has voted to confirm were somehow devoid of heritage and bereft of experience.”

The “Killa From Wasilla” came to the debate armed to the teeth with Republican talking points. She wasn’t afraid, she had the confidence — that of a robot programmed to “Vomit Policy.”

“Sarah The Barracuda” was pesky, scripted, loud, shrill and incoherent, as she rattled whatever her coaches had crammed into her head, with abandon.

For the entire ninety minutes she shuffled her “cheat sheets,” as if she were taking an “Open Book-Open Notes” Exam or participating in a Spelling Bee contest. She scraped and fought hard, spewing “Gibberish” by the bucket.

Ms. Palin exhibited little spontaneity and looked thoroughly rehearsed — sometimes avoided answering questions directly, instead slid into irrelevant sound-bites about her tenure as mayor of “tiny-town” Wasilla, Alaska.

On foreign policy, Palin stalled — giving generic non-specific answers, and when she resorted to her juvenile chants — “Maverick!,” “We are mavericks!,” “We are a maverick team!,” Biden promptly shot her down: “McCain wasn’t a maverick on ‘the things that matter to people’s lives,‘ citing issues such as health care, education and the war.” “He’s not been a maverick on virtually anything that genuinely affects the things that people really talk about around their kitchen table,” Biden said.

The debate format was not confrontational, and Joe Biden avoided engaging her, for fear of being labeled sexist. Had he forced her to deviate from her script, the results would have been disastrous. She would have forgotten her lines and gone off on some of her moronic, meaningless rambles.

CNN’s political analyst Bill Schneider was critical: “Palin’s answers do not lack confidence, they lack coherence.”

Joe Biden on the other hand was remarkably restrained, awash with policy and his vast knowledge and experience clearly showed. He offered much more detail on a range of topics, from national security to domestic issues, and relentlessly lumped McCain with Bush.

While Sarah acted like a “frisky” freshman debater, Joe was polished and presidential in his delivery.

Per Bob Shrum, Palin did not fall down on the stage — she survived.

Her performance was much better than I expected, because of one and only one reason — the debate format allowed her to stick to her rehearsed script. There were barely any follow-ups by the moderator, unlike in the first Obama-McCain debate, when vigorous follow-ups revealed the stark differences, weaknesses and strengths of the two candidates.

In this debate, Palin was allowed to verbally diarrhea “crammed policy,” like an express train without brakes, spewing useless garbage, winking and giving a “shout-out” to some high school in Alaska!

Give me a break! How stupid does one have to be not to read through this nonsense?

She is a total embarrassment — an affront to intellectualism, a trait I insist must be part of the package of a serious contender for the presidency of this great land.

“Hockey Moms” stay home and manage their families, they do not run for an office where they might be required to manage the largest stockpile of nuclear and biological weapons on earth.

My assessment is that Sarah Palin is not ready. She still knows nothing. Go Home Sarah!
